Worli gets a new park

This garden is like an oasis among the many concretes that are mushrooming in the city. With Mahindra park or Amarsons garden as it is popularly known being the only garden that we could go to this one just seems wonderful to have so close to home.

Inaugurated on 16th October this BMC park is located at Pochkanwala road next to the Anti Corruption Bureau building. How much people longed for this especially children was evident from the euphoria yesterday at the park. Hundreds of kids thronged the park yesterday to come and check out this beautifully constructed garden. Its not usually so crowded and rather empty as a lot of people still don’t know about it.

The landscape is beautiful with 2 sheltered seating areas on either side when you enter, followed by a little amphitheater kind of construction with a little stage and seating where the kids just played and performed like no one was watching them. As you go down, the garden is on a hill so the landscaping has various levels. You witness a play area that is fairly large with some nice equipments. The ground has a synthetic coated surface that helps prevent the dust and bruises.

Alongside the playarea is this lovely wall with many windows and arched doors that the children  love climbing and made it into their mock house for role plays.
As the evening progressed and the lights came on the garden was beautifully lit and especially the stage area. Must say its much better lit than mahindra park. One can find benches at regular intervals and there is enough place for people to sit back and relax in the garden.

We are so happy with this new open space that the city has to offer. Please moms ditch the malls and come out in the open where the kids  can experience nature and enjoy the space and freedom.
