Parents are always worried about how much food their child is eating and how they can manage to stuff more food into the little tummies. Like most Indian parents I also obsess about my son's eating habits. I worry is he getting enough iron and calcium which are essential for his development.

When Dr Samir Dalwai, a leading paediatrician with the New Horizons Group spoke to us at the KSP Awards 2017, he had a few revelations which surprised me. I always thought that what I feed my child from birth is what's going to lay the building blocks for his overall development. But Dr Dalwai shared some interesting facts with us – how and when brain development actually happens in an unborn foetus and the importance of nutrition for the pregnant mom and child.
