It was an evening to remember (and revisit of course!) as I visited the MuSo- Museum of Solutions– the latest initiative of JSW Group in Mumbai, a place that children can finally call their own!

Check out what I loved most at MuSo here:

About MuSo:

MuSo- Museum of Solutions is Mumbai’s new pride that is designed with love for children. Built with a vision of empowering children to build a better world through hands-on experiences. Opening to public on November 26th, at Kamla Mills, I got the wonderful opportunity to take a sneak peek tour of this place, that children are going to spend hours in!

The brainchild of Tanvi Jindal Shete who is the founder of MuSo, the 9-storeyed museum is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to inspire, enable and empower our next-gen.

What’s Special About The Place?

What is the first thing that strikes you, when someone mentions a museum? A reflection of things from the past, that gives us a sneak peek into the time and lives of people and civilizations from the glorious days before.

That’s where MuSo is different. I’ve seen the space before today and yes it gives me goosebumps to believe that this space exists in the heart of Mumbai city and someone out there is thinking of children as children and not by the school, gender, socio-economic strata, religious background they come from.

MuSo is a museum that looks into solutions for the future and not the past.

It incorporates the best practices of museums from across the world, providing a dynamic space for children to play, explore, learn and actively engage in finding solutions to real-world problems. MuSo is a space that allows children to create their own views and relationships with the context around them. The museum helps create experiences where children find common ground with those different from themselves.

What You Will Find At MuSo:

I was awestruck at the exhibits at MuSo and went back to being a child trying out each one of the experiences! The content for these exhibits is based on revolving themes: Water, People + Planet, Mental and physical well-being and Sustainability + Me. From workshops to interactive exhibits, there’s just everything your kids (and you!) would love to explore at MuSo that helps foster STEAM skills through adventures in air, water, storytelling, building, tinkering, climbing, and animation.

There are 4 labs at MuSo- play, discover, make and grow.

Play Lab: Where children get to dive into the world of animation and storytelling

Discover Lab: This is fast becoming everyone’s favourite the Mangrove Tunnel-an interactive tunnel with magical fairy lights, where you will learn and explore more about animals, creatures and the ecological universe.

Make Lab: An 8000-square feet lab where children will work on their art and craft skills

Grow Lab: A rooftop garden promoting sustainability and teaching kids more about the food cycle.

How To Book The Tickets To MuSo:

The museum is open 7 days a week, and there is an entry fee that is charged, The museum is open to all for FREE on Mondays, thereby promoting a more diverse audience from all sections of the society. Book your slots before going there, ‘coz walk-ins not allowed!

My Take:

In a world where our children are both surrounded by distractions and opportunities, the actual learning experiences they get are few and far-fetched. If you are looking to spend your weekends with your kids, watching their eyes widen with joy and amazement, ditch the malls, movies and other mundane stuff and get ready to be amazed by the spectacle that MuSo offers.
