Having gained experience with big banners like Hindustan Unilever and L’oreal, Rupika decided to think about what a mom would like and how every mom and child could make a difference. That’s when Smile Multiplier was born – and suddenly there was a way moms and kids could help the needy.
What is it?
Simply put, Smile Multiplier is an online shopping platform for moms and kids. Unlike other big stores, the site houses simple, yet ‘made with love’ products, sourced from multiple NGOs, which when bought will benefit the needy. So, all that money you spend on your little one’s gift is also going a long way in helping somone. Feels so good right?
What to shop for and how it will help?
1. Little Story Box
These boxes will get your child hooked on to reading! Every box has stories and activities around the story all of which is based on a 4R approach – read the story , reflect on it , retell  and reinvent. That aside, the box has super real powers! Yes, it also has a DIY cosmetic kit, puppets, books and capes made by ladies at the Animedh and the Women’s India charitable trust, giving them superpowers to help them earn a living.
2. Monstrously Cute
As the name suggests, Smile Multiplier has a range of monstrously cute products for children that support a child fighting a real life monster like cancer. From mugs to pouches, bibs and books, the range is colourful and simply irresistible. Not just that, the profits made through this, support Access Life, a temporary home away from home for kids with cancer and their parents, where they are provided with free stay and food. So now that’s another noble deed done as you shop!
3. Products by the Women’s India Trust
We all love cotton for our kids and the Women’s India Trust took full advantage of this and came up with a plethora of products for kids including pillows, stuffed toys and puppets. The Women’s India trust is an NGO that facilitate women empowerment through vocational skills, training and employment.
4. Accessories by Kshamata

In this crazy consumerist world, where we just can’t stop ourselves from buying the next cute thing on display, this idea makes sense because if we can help someone, then why not? We think this concept makes sense especially over holiday season when people are frenetically shopping for gifts and doing something charitable is part of the parcel.
