This campaign by Kidsstoppress and Instagram celebrates moms who are lifelong learners and will continue to dream big, think out of the box, and achieve everything they put their mind to. Stay tuned for more, this is episode 10/15.

How it all started:

Ankita was always into DIYs, but she never thought of sharing them online. Earlier on, she used to work in her Jewelry business, but once she was pregnant, she stopped to focus entirely on becoming a mother.

But when Ankita decided to set up her son’s nursery and do many DIYs. And one fine day decided to post it on Instagram. She never thought of starting a decor blog or DIY blog. But slowly, people started loving her work and that’s how she started posting more and more of her designs and DIYs.

“I didn’t know anything back then. What are decor bloggers and decor community or if these things even existed on Instagram? But I randomly started posting and my poster bed and my bedroom started getting attention.”

And then initially two big decor blogs approached her that to feature her home. And suffice it to say was Ankita was really surprised. She started putting more corners of her home on Instagram and the rest is history.

How she balances work and home:

“My son is my priority, so everything comes after it. So when I drop him off at school, I come back, I do my daily course, and then I focus on what I need to create today”

Ankita then creates one or two videos within 3 hours, getting only 2 or 3 hours daily to plan and create her content. The only time she get to create is when her son is at school.

“When I tell him that mom is going to shoot in this room, so if you can just stand beside me and not in the frame, he’s okay with it. He knows that I’m going to work in this room on this particular corner and he loves to get involved and gives suggestions of his own which I just love hearing.”

Ankita’s biggest learning:

“There is a first time for everything. So just do not hesitate in creating that video. Do not worry about the trolls. Do not worry about what people are going to think. Because where there are negatives, there are always ten positives.”
