KSP Review: Li’l Girls For Mul Is Soft, Comfortable, Pretty Dresses For Your Little Girl

I had trouble deciding if brown or pink would suit me better for my wedding reception and was chugging along my mother troubling her to make the decisions! But my three year old comes home from play and says she liked the strawberry designed “soft” frock her friend wore and asks me to buy that ‘online’! Lil girls in Mul is an apparel line for your lovely little girls by Diya Mehta. The idea to create this line for girls, has come out of the realization, of how fashion savvy little girls today are. 

Motivation behind Lil girls in Mul

Diya Mehta, the brains behind this venture credits her daughter for the motivation for creating the apparel line. When viewing her collections for adults, her daughter Aaliyah, appreciated them and kept asking Diya to make similar special designs for her size! Convincing the customer right inside your house was key to selling the product to other mothers, she realised. And when she put in more designs into products, her daughter gave her the verdict “Mamma this is so nice, feels so comfortable and is so prettyâ€_x009d_!

Materials used

Diya who has previous experience working with Mul feels it is easy to wear as a fabric, light and flowy. She feels since comfort is the key factor, it clicks well with children. Working with mul, Diya carefully infuses style, comfort and colour into standalone pieces. The trendy clothes in Lil girls in Mul have unique elements like applique motif and embroidery, Peterpan collar, etc. 

How to Order?

Orders can be placed via the online site Jaypore and through their Facebook page. Orders can be customized according to one’s sizes, colour palette and print. It is also available with OMO Goa, Curious Village in Delhi & Ludhiana.

Pricing:

The line caters to girls aged 3-12 years and the average MRP of collection is between Rs.1800 to Rs.3000.

What we love:

• The feel of the fabric. As mentioned, since comfort holds the key top pleasing the next generation, we loved the soft feel of the mul. The clothes are comfortable and allow your child’s skin to breathe.
• The designs and embroidery work done according to specs are appreciated and the colour palette was pleasing to the eyes.
• We love the subtle detailing through belts keeping the canvas easy, airy and accentuating the child’s style instead of clothes that are mass produced.

What we would like to see:

• Diya Mehta plans on the second line for little girls called “Lollipops“- party wear for kids, and having seen “Lil girls in Mul” we can’t wait!
• With the festive season approaching, we would love to see such soft comfortable collection in the festive wear range as well.
• We would love to see a larger capsule from Diya the next time around so one is not restricted to a few choices.
