1. Dream big

Okay, this might seem straight from the script of her national award winning movie, Fashion. Hailing from a middle class family, one where both parents were physicians in the Indian army, she dared to dream big from the very beginning. With no film background she started her career in modelling and went on to win the Miss World and then entered Bollywood and now, finally Hollywood. That’s a dream come true for most people. While her peers were still fighting for the number one position in Bollywood, she dared to dream out of the box and create her own universe by breaking barriers and boundaries and showcasing her talent on a world stage.

2. Talent will be noticed

Pee Cee has starred in a number of movies, but she has also played the role of supporting actress in movies where she is simply unforgettable – Aitraaz, Bajirao Mastani etc. It just goes to show that if you are talented it doesn’t matter what role you play, you will be noticed and appreciated.

3. Stop the urge to please people

We live in a world where we are constantly compared to with others and where the societal pressures play decision-makers in our life than actually what we want. Pee Cee hits the bull’s eye when she said during a movie promo, “I’ve realized one thing from being in show business since I was so young, that you can’t please everyone. You just can’t. There’s no way everyone will always be happy with you so be who you are and let people decide whether they like you or not.”

4. Stay independent

Whether you are a working woman or a stay-at-home mother or a combination of two, financial independence is something that a woman needs to work on. Priyanka Chopra once said, “My mom always says that when a woman is financially independent, she has the ability to live life on her own terms. That was the best advice I ever got.” She stresses beautifully on the uncertainties that life throws on us and how we must learn to be independent to face those challenges.

5. No substitute for hard work

Working in one place and in one industry is hard enough. But Priyanka Chopra or Piggy Chops as she is fondly called is working literally, across the world. She has reiterated time and again that there is no substitute for hard work and we believe her!
