Mumbai Christmas Fest 2011, what you missed.

How I wish the Santa would have interacted a bit more with the kids, made a grand entry on a sleigh or walked around ringing his bell and distributing his presents. Heading straight to catch our spots near the stage where the band was to perform, the kids enjoyed their pasta and popcorn and danced to some Christmas Carols and great music. As we left we all wished we could have more of these, but we know that Santa Clause is coming to town so lets make a wish and wish for a lot more open spaces for our children!

Thank you all for coming in big numbers at the Mumbai Christmas Fest 2011. The Indo German Chamber of Commerce had put up a great show and I know so many parents who thanked us for sharing the details with them. A special thank you to the team at the IGCC who played perfect hosts. Thank you Deepika, Ketaki & Prachi. So here is a round up of a great fest and I feel a little sad while summing it up that the city cannot boast of too many of these. But lets look at the brighter side the winter has finally arrived, we have a few open spaces which when made use of can result into beautiful memories. We arrived at the fest a little before Santa was to arrive while a great juggling act was on. A packed house was glued on to the show. It was indeed a spectacular show a world class act. Some children preferred to ice skate and the others were busy at the tattoo and games stall. The games were extremely innovative and the kids loved it. Ma favourite was feed laddoos to Choota Bheem where kids had to throw golden coloured balls into Bheems hands. We know the kids loved it as there was a really long queue for this one. The other games included spinning, throwing, balloon sculpting and rolling the dice. After trying our hand and at most of them we headed to take our picture with Santa which the daughter wasn't too happy with. She was a little scared of him and that resulted into a picture of Santa, Daughter and me. How I wish the Santa would have interacted a bit more with the kids, made a grand entry on a sleigh or walked around ringing his bell and distributing his presents. We then headed for the snow wonder, artificial snow play where we saw a long queue too with only moms as they dads had ditched us for the refreshing German beer. I know a lot of dads who willingly came along only for the beer 🙂 I see a lot of moms nodding their heads to this. The only other exhibitor who had a packed stall was Elefantastik(click here to know more about them). Their shoes and totes got a lot of pockets empty. Heading straight to catch our spots near the stage where the band was to perform, the kids enjoyed their pasta and popcorn and danced to some Christmas Carols and great music. The parents loved it as the kids had lots of open space, the weather behaved and made the evening a lot more fun. As we left we all wished we could have more of these, but we know that Santa Clause is coming to town so lets make a wish and wish for a lot more open spaces for our children!
