Puppeteering as an art was dying out when movie halls, TV sets and cellphones took over our world. There were so many other sources of entertainment. However, Ishara Puppet Theatre trust has been bringing us this art form for 16 years now. They have integrated art, music and dance into puppeteering to make sure that kids get engrossed and enjoy watching these shows.

What is the Ishara International Puppet Festival?
The stage is set once again for a new magical journey! The Ishara International Puppet Theatre Festival is celebrating its 16th anniversary, with a wide & exciting range of breathtaking performances. Nurtured & supported by the Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust the festival has grown into one of Asia’s largest annual puppet festivals.
What Will The Kids Get To See?
- Modern forms of puppetry, and genres like rod and string puppetry.
- The shows also feature dance, theatre, and music.
- There are performers from countries like Tunisia, Singapore, Thailand and Argentina etc.
- Be it tradition Chinese folklore, Italian marionettes, or the Northern Thai contemporary puppet dancing, the shows will keep people of all age groups engrossed.
