Let’s face it, as parents, we have way too many balls up in the air. I know exactly what happens to my schedule when one of my kids falls sick. As expected my baby needs me more, becomes clingy and demands to be carried and cuddled the whole day. Add to all that the constant struggle to take his temperature, record it, give him a dose of medicine, think of ways to bring the fever down…and that, parents as you know, is enough to completely unsettle your routine. I don’t know about you, but every time I take his temperature or give him his medicine I like to note it down so there is a record I can show when we visit the paediatrician. Now with a screaming, uncomfortable child in your arms, can you really remember to take down notes?

About Kids’ Health Tracker:
The Kids’ Health Tracker has been around since 2015 and is a fairly simple app sans frills. You can create avatars for your kids and you will get to see a cute animated image with your child’s name. It lets you record your child’s temperature (in F and in C) and also the last time you gave them a dose of medicine.
Why I like the app:
Once you add a few records to it, it charts a graph that can easily show you the progression of your child’s fever. Once shown visually it is easy for you to understand if your child is getting better or worse and convey the same (with statistics) to your paediatrician. It very simply takes the guess work out of your child’s illness and leaves you with facts so you are never at a loss for answers when your paediatrician asks questions.

It also is so easy to use! It has a timeline function that allows you to record symptoms and projects it as a day. So if you feel your child is exhibiting a new symptom and it is important that the doc knows about it, simply record it before you forget!
Once you record the symptoms and the temperatures and the medicine dose you can view it as a complete day chart. I also find it very helpful when I have multiple medicines I need to give my child. Simply write down the medicine and the dosage so you have it on hand for future reference.
