In my earlier post, I had explained in non-scientific terms about what PCOS is and what it does to your body. Today I will concentrate on how to heal PCOS with food and other treatment options. First and foremost, you need to believe that although ‘you’ have PCOS, it does not have you!
You can be sure if you have PCOS or not in 2 ways:
- An Ultrasound test can detect if your ovaries have cysts. But this test alone should not be the deciding factor as many women who have PCOS do not develop multiple cysts. While some women who don’t have PCOS could also have cysts.
- Blood tests prove to be more definitive in this case. Elevated levels of androgens, fasting insulin and/or glucose levels, LH, and an elevation in the ratio of LH to FSH are all biochemical findings consistent with PCOS. Don’t get stressed with these scientific terms, just get the tests done and if the findings are haywire, lets the experts take care of it.
