Best Kid Friendly Beaches In Goa (Parent Recommended)

Travelling with the family can be quite stressful. So if things like food and activities are sorted for the kids, it makes the trip so much more enjoyable. We had parents who have travelled with kids to Goa tell us which were their favourite. The following are their recommendations of the best beaches to head to with your family.

If you’re in the mood for some sun and sand then Goa is the ideal destination in India for a family to head to.  Kids busy building creative sand castles, palm-fringed shores with shells & rocks and picturesque sunsets making your experience a magical one.

But Goa is an entire coastline of beaches. So which ones should you be heading to? We had parents who have travelled with kids to Goa tell us which were their favourite. 

The following are their recommendations of the best beaches to head to with your family.

Morjim Beach


Morjim Beach is definitely one of the best beaches of Goa. Located south to Ashwem beach it is considered to be one of the most tranquil beaches of Goa, offering peace and serenity. Morjim Beach is also locally known as “Little Russia” because of huge inhabitation of Russians here who stay there. Morjim beach offers a plenty of things to do apart from water sports adventures.

Arambol Beach

Arambol Beach in North Goa has a distinct Bohemian feel to it that no longer exist in any other beaches. The main part of the Arambol beach is a long stretch of curving sand which serves as a perfect spot for family and friends for swimming. If adventure is your thing, then the cliff near the beach also offers paragliding and dolphin watching boat trips. There are some shops adjacent to the beach selling clothes, junk jewellery and handicrafts from across Goa and country. 

Agonda Beach

Agonda Beach is lined with sawing palm and casuarina trees. This wonderful beach is overlooked by an enormous hill to the south. However, swimming is not a safe option here. In close proximity to Agonda Beach stands Cabo de Rama, one of the most popular forts in Goa, which is associated with a lot of history and drama, throughout the ages. 

Baga Beach

Baga Beach is located close to Calangute beach. Lined with an array of tattoo parlours, tarot shops, palmistry shops, spas, sun decks and some amazing food and drinks shack, Baga Beach gives you a chance to live out your perfect beach holiday. The sheer variety of water sports activities offered here is mind-boggling, and you will be spoilt for choice. 

Calangute Beach

Situated 15km from the capital city of Panaji, Calangute Beach is the largest beach in north Goa. This shore of the sea is a glittering beauty and is also known as the 'Queen of Beaches' owing to its picturesque sceneries. It is also known for its water sports activities like parasailing, water surfing, banana ride and jet-skiing. You can also go for activities like spotting dolphins and crocodiles besides visiting the island for fishing or angling. 

Ashwem Beach

Ashwem beach is a long, pristine stretch of sand that is Ashvem beach is tucked away from the crowds and is an ideal place for tourists who want a quiet vacation soaking up the sun, sand and surf. The seas around Ashwem beach are perfect for swimming in, and the river that runs nearby offers a safe place for youngsters who are unable to handle the waves of the ocean. There are no water sports and other adventure activities available here.

Palolem Beach

Located in Canacona Southern Goa, it's known for its beautiful crescent – shape which makes it possible to see both the ends from the centre of the beach. The calm, shallow waters in this crescent bay are the safest for swimming in all of Goa. You can also hire kayaks, boogie boards and stand-up paddleboards, or go on a sunset boat trip. Few water activities like kayaking and paddling are done here. 

Patnem Beach

Patnem Beach is known as one the quietest place amongst all the beaches of south Goa. Find a beach chair or a hammock and enjoy some of the most sumptuous and exotic seafood that one could ever have. If you’re interested then boatmen and locales residing on that beach will take you on a ride far away in the sea for kind of dolphin show.

Candolim Beach

Candolim is in North Goa and is located between the Baga-Calangute stretch and the Aguada Fort. Candolim is a busy beach offering different sports activities like parasailing, diving, snorkelling, banana-boating or even take a trip on a boat alongside the seashore for birds and dolphins watching. For children, Candolim Beach has the famous Splashdown Goa or Melange Children Parks with plenty of different pools, sliding boards and amusements.

Cavelossim Beach

Cavelossim, in South Goa, is known for its family beach that has white sand and black lava rocks.  The beach is apt for spending a vacation or a day with family and kids as it allows taking a cruise and dolphin watching. 

Varca Beach

Varca Beach in Goa is quiet, calm and almost entirely hawker-free. Situated about 2kms from Benaulim. Varca is ideal for a family beach vacation in India. If you love to enjoy water sports activities, you must try water-skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, boating, diving, banana boating, fishing, and other adventurous activities on the beach.
