Parental expectations are a real thing. But this can go either way. It can either nurture a child’s self-esteem and promote healthy development. However, if expectations are unrealistic or senselessly low, children’s personalities and self-worth are negatively affected. Parents should understand the outcome and find the right balance to promote healthy development in children. This balance is hard to strike. So the real question is – should we expect our children to step into our shoes? Do we expect them to be go-getters like us? Or do we expect to be larger than life and be everything we aren’t?

These questions on conscious parenting can get daunting and we are always looking for an inspiration to look up to.
