You may or may not know this but your kids love to imitate you. They are around you all the time observing the way you talk on the phone, the way you eat, the way you wear your lipstick..most importantly the way you treat others.

In fact children learn more by observing their parents than by being told what to do and this video makes you pause and think how your behavior towards others influences your child.

No one is perfect! And parents are no exceptions. In today’s fast paced life, we may make mistakes or lose our cool sometimes, but the key is to set a good example for our kids by allowing them to to see how we deal with tough situations in a healthy way.

While your kids are watching you, here are 5 things parent must do to set a good example for their children.

  1. How and what you speak – Because kids pick up new words from us every day, Watch your conversations and the tone with which you  talk to your spouse, to your parents, to your domestic help or even the taxi driver.
  2. How you treat animals and other individuals -  Kids will learn to value and respect LIFE in any form from you!
  3. How you keep the house –  If you like your house messy, there is no way kids will learn about being tidy and organised whether it is your home or elsewhere.
  4. How you fight and make up with your spouse –  Do you say sorry when you are wrong? Children are sure to pick up that from you.
  5. How you help others –  Whether you help a friend or a stranger, when kids see you lending a helping hand to others, they will learn it too.

Still one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen as a parent.
