Let's admit it. They are the coolest among all the POTUS and FLOTUS, we have witnessed so far. As a woman, and more importantly as a mother to a daughter, I have learnt so much from the towering inspiration that she has become in the last decade- positive visions, inspiring speeches, amazing sense of humour, strong-willed and of course that gorgeous dressing style! I am sure, no other First Lady in the history has received so much adulation and respect worldwide and there is a reason why Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is loved so much! We at KSP- would love to wish this super mom a very Happy Birthday- We love and we will miss you!

Ever wondered how fast your life is turning out to be? Here is what she has to say about the whole parenting chaos thing.

"I mean, it still moves me to tears to think about the first day I put them in the car with their Secret Service agents to go to their first day of school. And I saw them leaving and I thought, what on Earth am I doing to these babies? So I knew right then and there my first job was to make sure they were going to be whole and normal and cared for in the midst of all this craziness."

Are you one among the many Indian women who believe their kids are to be pampered and the house help is to step in for every little duty. Well, Michelle Obama differs from you.

The first thing I said to some of the staff when I did my visit…I said, you know, we're going to have to set up some boundaries because they're going to need to be able to make their beds and clean up.

On Teaching Them Self-Confidence

While the First Lady is focused on encouraging daughters Malia and Sasha to be strong, independent individuals, she makes sure to do it the right way and not sound preachy.

Never lecture them about self-confidence. You sneak those conversations in when you’re talking to them about their friendships, or about the challenges they faced in a game, or something that their dad said that made them mad. That’s when I find they’ll hear the messages most.

On Giving Kids Their Space

As a parent, I have often had this urge to guide my daughter in every little step of hers. But here is why I am wrong according to Michelle Obama.

All you’re doing is guiding," FLOTUS continues. "You’re just slightly steering the boat. They come [into the world] with so much of who they are already in place. It’s easy to step in and push them hard in a [certain] direction. I have to fight that. It’s better to give them space and support.

Okay, so I can't be busier than the First Lady of the United States! The next time I give an excuse that I was too busy or tired to take care of my health, remind me to read this again!

Exercise is really important to me—it’s therapeutic. So if I’m ever feeling tense or stressed or like I’m about to have a meltdown, I’ll put on my iPod and head to the gym or out on a bike ride along Lake Michigan with the girls.

Being America's first family obviously comes with its own set of perks, but mommy Michelle knew what was best for her daughters. She wanted her kids to learn the hard way and taste the sweet success of hard work.

Just because their father is the President, it doesn't mean the girls get out of having minimum wage jobs. I think every kid needs to get a taste of what it's like to do . . . real hard work.

She sums up the whole parenting thesis with this point on unconditional love and why we need to make our kids loved enough.

Above all, children need our unconditional love — whether they succeed or make mistakes; when life is easy and when life is tough.  I love our daughters more than anything in the world ― more than life itself. And while that may not be the first thing that some folks want to hear from an Ivy-league-educated lawyer, it is truly who I am. So for me, being Mom-in-Chief is, and always will be, job number one.
