Some things are taught by books and some by practical knowledge. I have started involving my 5 -year-old to shopping visits and I explain why we hand over cash to the store person when we buy things from there. And am sure, that isn't enough. The earlier I teach her why it is essential to 'buy only the essentials' and start saving- I know I will be laying a safe and secure foundation for her.
Earlier, we spoke to Vishal Khandelwal of Safal Niveshak, who gave us some valuable insights on the right formula for savings, the right kind of investments parents must look at and cleared the common myths associated with stock markets. If you are a parent, looking at financially planning your child's future- you shouldn't miss these videos. Vishal Khandelwal has also started an initiative for kids called the Camp Millionaire – a money workshop for kids that will give them early lessons on savings
And during our conversation, he had this very important thing to share. Just like how our kids love to read fiction and fantasy, it is essential we start our tweens and teens on the right financial planning. He suggests a few books that help kids (and parents) understand the right concepts of saving, planning and investments from the stalwarts. Go ahead and add them to your bookshelf today!
