What? Chores for 3-6-year-olds? Yes, don’t worry, they are simple and easy. Besides, it’s never too early to introduce your tiny tots to personal or even household chores. Kids love to help around. And with enough encouragement, they’ll grow up to be neat and mannerly kids.
But Chores? Isn’t It Too Early?
We are not talking about heavy-duty chores, but really simple ones.(some of them aren’t even chores!) Kids love when they feel they are responsible for something. Even though they are small, they are always happy to help.
This also sets their journey of starting to be independent. When they help around in the house, they start to understand how things work, why is cleanliness important, why should things be kept in their place and so on. Here’s a list of not-so-difficult chores for 3-6 year olds.

Personal Chores:
- Picking up their toys
- Keep their clothes ready for school
- Take care of their school stuff
- Polishing their school shoes
Household Chores:
- Dusting furniture
- Helping in clearing the table
- Keeping the utensils in their proper place
- Feeding the pets
- Folding clothes
Ofcourse at first, supervision is necessary. But slowly, they learn the process and then voila! Turns into habits. Teaching them this at a young age will surely help them in the long run.
