Breakfast is always a challenge in our home because we need it to be quick, healthy, and portable. For most of us working parents, breakfast is always a challenge because we are either running late or have no time to make breakfast. If you have been following our food posts you know we love anything that is quick and easy to make. Our perennial favourites banana smoothies, granolas, pancakes all go a long way in making our mornings less hectic. So if you find yourself reaching out for a ready to eat cereal, be warned that they are full of sugar, lack fibre, and are highly processed. As parents we need to be on from the minute we wake up, and that is exactly why we need this breakfast packed to the gills with flavour and nutrients.

That’s why we love this recipe. It is quick and easy, healthy, and most of all delicious! It really can’t get any better than a big bowlful of homemade muesli.

Here is what you need to make Homemade Muesli: 

1. 2 cups rolled oats

2. 1 cup organic brown poha (flattened rice)

3. 5 spoons of white sesame seeds (if it’s winter season you can add in black sesame seeds too)

4. Bowlful of makhana or lotus root seeds

5. Seasonal fruit

6. Sunflower seeds

7. Chopped Nuts

8. Bee Pollen
